Cutlass Marine Float Cells

The core components of a Floats and Frames pontoon are our float units. Rotationally moulded with a 6mm wall thickness of linear polyethylene, they provide superior buoyancy, 'hard chine' derived stability, and ability to withstand vertical compression than other market options. With an expected service span of 80 years, they can handle tidal beaching, rough waters and significant impacts; and are available from us with or without companion framing to suit your floating home, end-of-garden mooring, lakehouse, marina finger network, or raft-based project plans.

At a glance, each float measures 2444 x 904 x 600mm, weighs 60kg and will sit around 300mm deep in the water with a balanced load of 560kg.

Floating Home Pontoons

By combining our float cells with modular framing, any beam, length, or buoyancy of pontoon can be achieved. We use aluminium for our frames, enabling our floating home bases to offer an elegant, long lasting, and budget-friendly alternative to traditional monohull, deep-displacement craft. Just launch in modules from a riverbank or slipway, connect with only spanners, and add your choice of cabin.

With no metallic part submerged, slipway fees, blacking and expensive hull maintenance are eliminated, all while providing inherent mitigation against internal or external water/LPG leak accumulation. Additional benefits include flat-deck disabled access, insulation against thermal bridging, post-launch adaptability, and the versatility of choice available.

Moorings, Decks, Docks, Jetties, Rafts and Marina Networks

These system variants  vary from our houseboat options by spanning floats further apart to focus on budget rather than relative buoyancy density. Choose a floats and aluminium frame base module type by footprint and buoyancy, add further units, then mix and match additional modular components to suit.

Our UNIMOD system arrays offer future-proof versatility, quality, adaptability and value; conceived, draughted and fabricated at industrial marine standards. Pontoon to use case optimisations are however often important, talk to us for advice on siting, loading, bank fixing, custom commissions and installation (service also available).
